An Beal Bocht Open Mic Tuesday March 24

March 27, 2015 14:37

We were back at the Bocht last Tuesday for their weekly open mic. It was our first time back after our gig there March 15th. We performed Dos Gardenias and Just the Way You Are (the Billy Joel version). Thanks to the host for working the sound board and giving us a great sound. There was also a great vibe with all the musicians. By far was the girl who performed Radiohead’s Creep. Don’t know her name but she was outstanding.

From the All Nations event at International House. We performed Veinte Anos. Sorry, no video or audio for this. It was a packed auditorium and we were the next to last act. The show featured different musicians from all over the world. Some performing music in their native languages while others did broadway tunes, and scenes for shows. It was an absolutely great night.

MUNY 7 28 2012

August 20, 2012 01:31 - 119 MB

Click to Play This concert was everything it was cracked up to be. Hard, Hot and Loud. We played from about 3pm till 6pm, with 2 intermissions on the hour as I went back to put money in the meter. For some reason the Ipod recording was not balanced so that one track was recorded very low. Still, you'll get the idea. We played at Union Square, 14th Street. Set List: From Small Things House of the Rising Sun Veinte Anos Air That I Breathe Move It On Over Whiter Shade of Pale ...

Aria at the Greenmarket 7 26 2011

October 28, 2011 18:26

click on title to play Well after a few months on the shelf I got around to editing this concert. We were seriously peaking. This was a 2 hour concert and we gave all. By the end, my speaking voice is hoarse but still going. There are a number of PSA's, which shows how comfortable I was at improvising and talking to the audience. Dan is always comfortable and you'll hear it. Enjoy Ghost Riders From Small Things House of the Rising Sun Veinte Anos Air that I Breathe Move it on Over Whiter S...

Everett Cafe 7 21 2011

July 25, 2011 00:12

click to play We added 5 songs to the set. Brought back to 2 old ones and tried out 3 new ones. The hardest one was the easiest. That would be Va Pensiero. The easiesr one, Red Red Wine is still a work in progress. During the break we just practiced the new songs. We know our standard set pretty well. But there was some rustiness especially on Whiter Shade of Pale. But we picked it up after that. Set list. Enjoy. Ghost Riders From Small Things- Debut House of the Rising Sun Here There and...

Aria at Red Room

December 21, 2010 18:35 - 20.8 MB

click on title to play This concert is from last year at The Red Room up in Washington Heights. It was open mic night. You can hear the audience singing and playing along especially on Veinte Anos and What's So Funny. It was a great atmosphere.. People are encouraged to play along as the audience is also made up of musicians waiting to play. We only had 10 minutes but stretched it to about 15. I was having problems with my squeaky harmonica on the last song. Soon thereafter, I moved up to a ...

Everett Cafe 12 1 10

December 10, 2010 11:37

Click on title to play Despite not playing or practicing much this set was very energetic. You'll hear some mistakes here and there. On some songs my breathing isn't correct. Sounds like a tape glitch, but it's me choking on the words. Other than that we were extremely happy with the set. Turned out to be a much shorter set, with 2 less songs. We have our usual repertoire, but included Pretty Paper for the holidays. Enjoy. Ghost Riders House of the Rising Sun Pretty Paper Air that I Breath...

September 27, 2010 10:50

Click on Title to Play After 2 months we got back to playing music. Except for some small mistakes, this concert went smoothly. Especially good were House of the Rising Sun, in the new key. We didn't have much time to change up the set. These are the same tunes we performed last time. The energy level was there and this time I even included shot of the poster hanging at the Everett Cafe. Enjoy. Set list is Ghost Riders House of the Rising Sun Air that I Breathe Whiter Shade of Pale Con Te ...

Everett Cafe July 7, 2010

July 12, 2010 15:39

Click on Title to Play Wednesday's concert at Everett Café, Teachers College, will probably be our last concert for the summer. Looking forward to the fall for more Teachers College gigs and beyond. Dan and I have been performing "House of the Rising Sun" for a few years now. As a trio, with Professor Daniel Wolf Savin on stand-up bass, the song had a great feel. But when we went back to being a duo, the song didn't seem to pack the same decadent punch. Now with the harmonica and a new key (...

Aria at Teachers College 6 9 10 Ipod Recording

June 12, 2010 02:28

Click on title to listen to the whole concert. Our first full concert in 3 months. It felt good to be playing again. Just getting in front of an audience brings it all back. We also brought back some unwanted things like forgetting lyrics and notes. Have a listen and enjoy the concert.

GBGM Youth Concert 4 9 10

April 21, 2010 13:34

Click on the title and you'll hear out GBGM Youth Concert from April 9th. This was a last minute gig to keep us sharp. Jesus Christ is always a rockin tune. This is the U2 version of Woody's great song. What's so Funny (About Peace Love and Understanding) is always a crowdpleaser. To think this song is 30 years old and we heard it in high school.

Move it on Over Purim Concert 3 14 10

April 21, 2010 13:28

Very first podcast. Test run for Move it on Over from the Purim concert. We were scheduled to play Teachers College on February 10th, 2010. Due to the big snowstorm, that gig was canceled. Needing to stay sharp, Dan got us this gig at the YMHA in Washington Heights. We had a great time playing for the parents even though it was supposed to be a kids concert. Here is our first shot at podcasting. We played in a room that's usually used for dancing and exercise. That's probably why the sound i...
