This week we’re looking at mistakes in logic people often make when discussing creation and evolution or any other topic for that matter! Here’s a big one: ad hominem attacks.


This means “to the man.” It refers to arguments that are nothing more than an attack on the person making the argument, not the argument itself.


Evolutionists are often guilty of this when they write about us at Answers in Genesis. They’ll just accuse us of being “dumb” or “uneducated,” and ignore the arguments we actually make!


Ad hominem arguments can be persuasive because they appeal to emotions but we shouldn’t fall for them. We engage with arguments, not attack the person.
