All this week we’ve been looking at incredible “sixth senses” God has given various creatures. Today, we’re looking at “pit organs.”
These organs are found in certain snakes. They allow snakes to “sense” infrared. This infrared is a type of light created by heat.
Now, pit organs are so precise they can detect variations of just a fraction of a degree. These snakes are even able to filter out background infrared coming from the environment, so they can just focus on finding dinner.
This complex ability didn’t just evolve. It was created by God. But snakes didn’t use it to find mice and rabbits in the original “very good” creation. It’s a result of the fall.
