Many people wonder how Noah could fit the animals on the ark. After all, there are millions of species alive today. Plus, the extinct ones!


Well, we’re learning about the concept of “created kinds” this week. We discovered a kind is at about the level of “family.” Now, Noah wasn’t told to take two of every species on the ark. He was commanded to take two of every kind—and seven pairs of some. And he only had to take the land-dwelling, air-breathing kinds!


So if Noah only had to take two of every kind, or “family,” he needed about 1000 animal kinds. But that’s less than seven thousand animals on that massive ship!
