In this week’s episode, Sarah Totten explains how she discovered a predator’s modus operandi (MO) by researching not only his call detail records (CDR), but also his search history in Google, Zillow, and RedFin. Her thorough research provided a clear pattern and likely trajectory that prompted investigators and prosecutors to act immediately to prevent further harm. Sarah initially wanted to pursue a career in law, but ultimately decided law enforcement analytics was where her true interest lay. Sarah is the current President of the Virginia Crime Analyst Network (VCAN) and provides us insight on current and future VCAN news, along with information on how to attend their webinars and symposium. Sarah is currently the Management Crime Analyst at the Arlington County Police Department.
