Episode: 00052

Release Date: April 26, 2021

Description: "Creativity" may not be a word that comes to people's minds when they think crime analysis, but it definitely is a creative field -- you just have to think outside the box! In this week's episode, seasoned analyst and former theater professional, Brittany Willis, shares how she transitioned from a theater career to a law enforcement career, and how she used that creativity and artistic mindset to assist in a homicide investigation. Brittany's ability to think of creative ways to present evidence and provide information in an easy-to-understand manner to a jury helped solidify a case. Brittany gives insight on how she started her career in crime analysis, and the benefits of being a dispatcher first before transitioning into an analytical role. Brittany is currently a senior crime analyst with the Scottsdale Police Department.
