Description: From automotive to automation -- things are just better when it's on auto! In this episode, Brian Gray, an analyst and analysis instructor for over two decades, shares how he went from being a mechanic to a crime analyst then to a leading member with the Law Enforcement Intelligence Units (LEIU). Brian advocates for current and aspiring analysts to learn more about their databases and incorporate automated processes into their workflow whenever and wherever they can to free up time for what they do best -- analysis! And not just law enforcement analysis either; this pandemic has presented an opportunity to work with those in the healthcare industry and their data to reach the goal of public safety. Brian explains that his badge story, or rather his legacy, is his students. Brian has taught many working analysts today throughout his 20+ year tenure (including our very own writer, Mindy!) through the Crime & Intelligence Analysis programs at the California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), and the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Brian is currently a managing analyst at the Riverside County Sheriff's Department as well as an instructor for multiple crime analysis programs, including CSUF and UCR. Brian is an executive board member and chairman for the southwest zone of LEIU. 

Trivia: Brian once had eight motorcycles at once in his garage!
