THE SPACE CROPPERS

EPISODE SYNOPSIS: Smith and the children, trying to track down a werewolf, find a strange family consisting of a mother son and daughter, all dressed in rags with a dilapidated spaceship resembling a hillbilly shack. They are planting crops and as soon as their harvest is in, they say they will be moving to another planet. Smith, who sees a chance to get back to Earth with them, begins courting the mother. Meanwhile, the plants, nurtured by strange rites and incantations, grow rapidly, and produce exotic fruits and shining silks. On Smith’s next visit he finds the family all elegantly dressed and ready to depart. All set and ready to leave with them, Smith refuses to listen to Will who has discovered that the son is the werewolf they saw and that the plants, after producing all that the alien family needs, will be left to take over and devour everything that remains alive on the planet.
