Thanks to technology, filters are everywhere we need them. Virtual backgrounds, touch-up appearance options, studio edits and filters help us hide things, help us pretend, help us have fun. Filters are not a new phenomenon either...they've been around since the beginning when Adam hid his nakedness with a fig leaf.  But what if I told you that alcohol is a filter? A filter that helps distract us and others from the things we don't want to look at. A filter to hide our mess behind. A filter that helps us have fun no matter what we're doing.
