The sermon was delivered on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.
SERMON DESCRIPTION
On Sunday, November 23rd, All Souls will have one combined service at 10:30 AM with music from many of our different choirs (Children’s, Youth, Cherubs, New Dimensions and the Adult Choirs will all participate). Children are asked to bring fruits or vegetables to add to our cornucopia in the front of the sanctuary. All of the food will be donated to those in need in our city. Our ministers have been working on a special way to celebrate this national holiday. It will be the first time on a Sunday morning that we are inviting our members from all three of the distinct Sunday services to join together in a single celebration. On this holiday when we lift up the story of people coming together across cultures and differences in the past, we will create a living example of such unity and what it means to us in the present. We will be offering a traditional Hungarian Unitarian communion service in the small chapel following the main service. I hope you will also join us for a delicious church lunch following the service.
