The sermon was delivered on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister.
SERMON DESCRIPTION
For many people religion is about belief. At All Souls we care more about what someone does than what that person believes. What good is it if a person believes, or says he believes, something, but acts in ways that are unkind, miserly, or self-aggrandizing? Supposedly, most people today ascribe to the beliefs of one of the major religions, and yet look at the state of the world. The vast majority of Americans say they believe in God and Christianity, but we still see so much greed, violence, corruption, selfishness, and materialism. As far as I’m concerned, you can believe what you want, I want to know whether when I’m in trouble or in need, if you will help me?
