‘The starting point is always create something you really love’

Miso Tasty is a Japanese food brand that speaks to and of founder Bonnie Chung’s love for making good food and sharing it with others. This week we have a behind the scenes tour of Bonnie’s business journey and what she has learnt along the way, from her time as Fleur’s intern (!), to initial product development of the perfect miso paste, and the success of Miso Tasty in the market today.

Bonnie shares her business journey, discussing:

The transferable business skills gained from being raised by restaurateurs. Miso Tasty’s initial 3-year product development period, and the time and money needed for a competitive branded product.Understanding who you’re pitching to and getting the manufacturer on-side. Listening to the market when developing new products and not overinvesting too early.  The pros and cons of marketing a product that people don’t yet know they love.
