Just because a person becomes a Christians doesn't mean that they no longer deal with fear and anxiety. In fact, quite often, faith looks more like facing those things head-on. In scripture, we see this illustrated perfectly with the account of Peter being invited out to walk on the water with Jesus. He was the only one who had the faith in the moment to believe that he could step out of the boat if Jesus invited him to do so. Upon stepping out on the water, however, Peter was quickly overwhelmed by the wind and waves crashing down all around him, and began to sink, ultimately, crying out to Jesus for rescue. Jesus pulled him up and brought him back to the boat. This can be a picture of what the Christian life looks like; we step out in faith, get overwhelmed, and cry out to Jesus, but this isn't the failure that one might assume it to be. No, it is Christ working in and through us for the good glory of the Father.

In this episode, we interview Pastor Josh Pasma, the founding pastor of Crossview Community Church in Kennewick, WA. Josh shares about the struggles he has seen in ministry and life, and how it has been Christ who has ultimately been the one with enough faith to bring him through and pull him back out when he has been overcome by the types of fears and anxieties that come with the wind and the waves of life.
