In today's episode we launch a new series on the topic of Francis Bacon, who is truly one of the most significant figures of world history. The focus of this initial episode is to lay the historical and geopolitical foundations for European civilization after the fall of the Roman Empire. In particular, we focus on the rise of the Roman Catholic Church as a major power player and the persecution of philosophy that took place as a result.

In the episode that follows, we will track the movement of esoteric philosophy through various secret societies and front organizations over the course of the Middle Ages. This will serve to lay the foundations for examine the world that Francis Bacon was born into and would transform through the work he conducted over the course of his lifetime.
