Today, we explore sovereignty with social impact entrepreneur, Mara Evenstar. When thinking about sovereignty, think less about states and nations and more about personal empowerment!
The concept of sovereignty has been coming up a lot more in women’s spirituality and development circles. It’s a powerful thing, which is why Mara teaches us how we can embody it. She says it’s about knowing who you are, at the core. Becoming sovereign is about coming into ourselves and embracing the beautiful inner goddesses that we are.
We not only talk about sovereignty and self but also sovereignty and community and sovereignty and business. We talk through sovereignty amidst this pandemic and the transformation and Transformations (capital T) happening in the world. Things are moving away from masculine/capitalisic to a more flowy divine feminine paradigm.

Mara Evenstar believes that within each of us is a drive toward wholeness and unitive experience. Personal, interpersonal, spiritual, and professional growth are different aspects of the same impulse—to actualize our full potential and experience our true selves.
She expresses her life purpose work through her activities as a social-impact entrepreneur, a “village wise-woman” an organizational consultant, and as healer / teacher. She thrives while working in co-creative partnerships. She is a co-owner of Evenstar’s Chalice and the newly launching Evenstar Institute. She co-founded Sophia Unfolds, and acts as co-director of Conscious Rites, a program of The Intentional Living Collective where she also sits on the board of directors.
Through her work, Mara serves individuals going through transformative life experiences as well as supporting the transformation of our society and world. Her practice is supported by knowledge of the human condition through studies in psychology, religion and spirituality, anthropology, integral theory, education and the healing arts. She holds a Master Degree of Transpersonal Psychology and a Master of Education focusing on Leadership and Social Transformation. Her practice is grounded in professional, real-world experience with research and development in education, business, and technology.
