Today's guest is Kevin Brodie, Director of Machine Learning at Orbital Sidekick. Founded in 2016, Orbital Sidekick is the premier persistent monitoring service helping commercial and government organizations meet their sustainable operations, ESG and security goals. The company's satellite constellation supplies fast, efficient hyperspectral intelligence from anywhere on the planet. They imagine a world where the planet's most pressing operational, environmental and safety problems are solvable.

In his role as Director of Machine Learning, Kevin manages a team of Machine Learning scientists to develop technical roadmaps, build models, design ML infrastructure, analyze systems for hardware and software requirements development, and plan ML experimentation. Kevin's goal is to use math, physics, and code to develop new technologies that benefit the world. He enjoys solving problems in natural sciences, remote sensing, biological signal processing and climate change.

In the episode, Kevin will talk about:

The mission they are working on at Orbital Sidekick,

How they are using Data Science and ML,

The day-to-day life within the team,

Overcoming challenges of bringing the models into production,

The roadmap and upcoming projects,

Why Orbital Sidekick is a great place to work.
