On Episode 87 we welcome Dean Culshaw, a British Agegroup Triathlete who did his first triathlon back in 1983 over in the Middle East, where he was working at the time.

Dean came from a sporting background, trying and doing anything that was available, but it was Rugby league that was his main focus. He played up until he was in his thirties.

When life got in the way, Dean focused on running and with a plan and a goal completed the London Marathon. 

Dean did his next triathlon again out in the Middle East and it was during research into training and what was happening in the world of triathlon he discovered agegroup competition.

 Since then he has  done 13 GB championship races,  Aquathlon Chicago, 3 Standard distances,  Duathlon Kalkar,  Soria European and Avilles World championships. 
World standard Triathlons at Chicago, Rotterdam, Gold Coast and Lausanne. European standard at Geneva, kitzbuhel Weert, Tartu where he won a  Silver medal,  European middle distance Ibiza. 
Dean became  British Middle distance champion last year and runner up this yearn His Agegroup. 
This year the age of 70 he states "he decided to hurry up and do an Ironman before it was too late", he again worked to a plan and read around the subject of what it takes to complete an Ironman.

Dean won his  age group at Ironman Copenhagen August 20 in a respectable time of 12:54. 
Age is just a number!
