Heather Lambert is a recently retired (this spring)  children's doctor (paediatrician ) at the Great North Children's Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Heather goes into her background story of sporting achievments, but is very humble and doesn't let on how well she has done or how good she is. Instead she prefers to talk about her passion for climate change and how her and a group of paediatrics are trying to bring awareness to this issue.

Air pollution and the wider effects of the Climate Emergency are the biggest risks to health in UK and worldwide. Heather states "we know the solutions involve reducing our dependence on fossil fuels,  and bikes are part of that. I've been increasingly involved in riding my bike and co-organising rides with Ride for Their Lives to raise awareness about something I'm passionate about.

So over the past 6 months, Ive done well over 3000k with RFTL and another 2000k cycle camping in France (about half on my own). All fantastic base miles for the World (June Targu Mures) & Euro (Sept Bilbao) duathlon championships."

Both these championships she won and no doubt it was the amount of cycling Heather done went toward her success.
