On this Episode we speak to Donald Brooks,
Donad got in touch and said he would like to share his story and what a story.
This year he set out the challenge of winning every  British title in his agegroup, it is a moment to remember, to win one , so for Donald Brooks to win all five in one year is an impressive feat as he became British champion in every distance and multisport possible in his age group in 2022.

 As a  child Donald was a competitive swimmer within a club but fell out of love with club swimming around the age of 12. He then started playing water polo as this looked more fun than just swimming and kept him in the pool. 

His Dad had always been a scuba diver and Donald also wanted to do this but could not join the British sun Aqua club until the age of 14. 

As soon as he turned 14 he signed up and started training. He found out that the club also had an off shot of an Under water hockey club (Octopush) which he tried and loved. Donald stopped playing water polo and fully committed  to under water hockey. He played this until the age of 35, representing Great Britain on many occasions as and elite and masters (over 35) player. 

Donald took up competitive swimming again when he was 21 in a masters club and is still involved and swimming regular. 

While swimming with the masters club some people used to take part in an Aquathlon that was held at the pool he swam in andheI tried a few of these. 

I ended up doing my first triathlon in 2014 got hooked and the rest they say is history.
