Agnes Aineah, a journalist working for the Association for Catholic Information in Africa, has covered some of the most important moments in the Church in Africa since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this episode, she shares the story of her formative early years as a member of the Legion of Mary; her training as a journalist, and the vibrancy of the church in Africa which gives her so much hope. She also tells the stories of the suffering of people in Africa because of the pandemic, and speaks of the need to improve lay participation in the Church and more collaboration and openness between church leaders in Africa and journalists. She encourages Catholic church leaders to speak out boldly on faith and social concerns without being afraid.
