Today we discussed Emotional Intimacy and Self Sabotaging Relationships. Emotional Intimacy is the ability to connect on a deeper level with a partner through healthy communication, expressing one's feelings, building trust, and being vulnerable. Fear of abandonment is a primary cause of self-sabotage. Research shows that people might self-sabotage for other reasons like trust issues, limited relationship skills, unrealistic expectations, or low self-esteem.   Increasing emotional intimacy skills can help improve relationships and strengthen old ones. Blu and Marissa share how negative self-talk and thinking can become destructive to others around you if not worked through. It's essential to seek professional help and gain self-awareness to improve your relationships with others and become stronger.    This is our weekly live show, One on One with Coach Blu. Coach Blu is a licensed mental health therapist and certified substance use disorder counselor. Today's cohost is Addict II Athlete's own Athletic Director, Marisa Robinson. Marissa is a Certified Recreational Therapist.
