The Golden Era of Women's Climbing is the topic of Stephanie's intro to the episodes highlighting pioneer women climbers who climbed simply for the love of it. During the 60's, 70's, and 80's climbing meant something very different than it does now. This is especially true for the women who made incredible strides and took incredible risks BECAUSE they loved being in the mountains! These women took risks, not to further any cause, but to pursue a dream and see what they were capable of, in the mountains. Stephanie introduces the subject from her unique perspective of both rock climbing and mountaineering, when the term climbing meant something quite different than now.
