Dorothea Helen Puente lead a long life of hustles, scams, thefts and eventually murder. Using her kindly demeanor to lure in helpless people with charity, only to leave them broke, and sometimes, buried. Poison was her speciality, using it to pray on the elderly and infirm. She owned the so-called Murderhouse in Sacramento, a building that still stands today, that Dorothea operated as halfway house for the homeless and mentally ill. Living off of her victims pensions and social security checks, Puente hid in plain sight, with many authorities, and even her jury, buying her old lady gimmick. Was she set up?
