Albert Einstein, the eminent physicist had made his home in Berlin in 1905. He grew to become part of the community, and as his fame grew with his achievements so did admiration and respect of the people of the city that he now called home. In 1929 the city of Berlin and its Lord Mayor Böß decided to honour the man and present him with a gift, that, for the city, turned into a scandal.
