Maryland/Japan “Every day is the best day of my life because I live each day thinking if I was to die today, would I be happy with it?” - Jasmine Elightize | Listen on Apple Podcasts | Listen on Spotify | Listen on Google Play  From a young age, Jasmine has always been interested in travel, languages, and entrepreneurship. With a multilingual and traveling grandmother, and parents who knew her travel bug was here to stay Jasmine's love for foreign cultures and entrepreneurship led her to work for prestigious organizations, such as the World Trade Center Institute in Maryland, and the World Bank in Washington, D.C.  She continued her love for business by leaving the United States and helping entrepreneurs in Peru and Morocco, before moving to Japan. Currently, Jasmine makes YouTube videos and content about her adventures of living in a foreign country and starting an online business. In this episode we cover: Living in the American bubble  Writing speeches for world leaders to living in Tokyo Meditation, Visualisation and goal setting Why you need to visit Peru...now The “N word” in Asian culture  The one thing Americans do that freak Japanese people out Just go! Why most people will never move abroad, even if they want  And so much more!  Resources Mentioned More on the concept of [ “Honne & Tatamae”] More on the concept of [“Ikigai”] Because I can’t stop looking at [Japanese toilets] now WAIT! Don’t Go… After the show, I ask every guest for the books that changed their life. As an unapologetic book nerd, I know the power that pages hold - and that I would not be seeing the world today without the words and stories of authors that make me feel like making your dreams a reality isn’t just a cliche.  This week’s book recommendation from Jasmine… ["The Alchemist"] by Paulo Coelho “It's the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”  [ "You're a Badass at Making Money"] by Jen Sincero “RICH: Able to afford all the things and experiences required to fully experience your most authentic life.”  Connect with Jasmine:  Youtube: @Enlightize Instagram: @Enlightize Facebook: @Enlightize Be sure to sign up for Jasmine Email Newsletter for motivation, updates, opportunities, and stories from life in Japan!  Build a Community: Abroad & Co. is on a mission to build a tribe of positive like-minded millennials living, working and studying around the world.
