Matthew Grollnek left California nearly 20 years ago, joined the Peace Corps, and a few months later found himself in rural Zambia sitting around a fire trying to speak Bemba with the locals he now called his neighbors. Fast forward to today and he’s built an incredible life for himself in Africa, currently working as the Future of Work lead at the Mastercard Foundation, traveling the world often with his wife and two children, and taking the occasional weekend trip to the Kenyan coastline and the incredible national parks that surround his home in Nairobi. In this episode we explore Kenya and Zambia specifically, but more generally we focus on subjects ranging from traveling with a family to immigrating to Africa, and the evolution of several nearby countries that are emerging as top travel destinations.
