On today’s episode of “Here's The Thing,” Thomas Arnone and Mitch Williams discuss the previous week of Philadelphia Phillies action. The Philadelphia Phillies were swept in the opening week series to rival the New York Mets. The Phillies stayed on the struggle bus when they headed down to our nation’s capital to take on the Washington Nationals over the weekend. Even with Zack Wheeler starting on Friday night, the Phillies just could not rally and recover from being down 7-1. However, on Saturday and Sunday, Kyle Schwarber and the Phillies would find a way to make it work as they took the last two games of that series. Now on a 2 game win streak, (after losing a heartbreaking 5 in a row), the Phillies are looking to extend that as they return home to prepare for the Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Will the Phillies need to win 15 out of the next 20 games? Will they go on a 15 game run or will it be broken up? Let us know in the comments below! Former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams gives us a glimpse as to what these players are thinking coming off a long stretch of bad luck on the road including a being swept by a divisional rival. Over the last few years, the Phillies seem to have a problem when they play the New York Mets. Why? What is so difficult year after year about playing against this long time rival? Mitch saw something in Zach Wheeler’s pitching motion on Friday night. Could this be something that changes the way the Phillies look at their rotations moving forward? Or could this be something that makes this team rethink Wheeler’s position on the team? To round things out, Tom Arnone and Mitch Williams are going to have a catch. Not literally…but Tom will be throwing some questions to Mitch who will fire back with some raw thoughts.
