On today’s episode of “Here's The Thing,” filling in for Thomas Arnone, Michael Chromiak and former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams discuss the Phillies as they come out of the All Star Break. The Philadelphia Phillies started the weekend off shaky losing Friday’s game to the San Diego Padres, but answered thunderously by sweeping Saturday’s double header and walking Sunday’s game off in extra innings. The Phillies welcome the Milwaukee Brewers to town starting on Tuesday and then head out to take on the Cleveland Indians Guardians for the weekend series. The Phillies recently called up one of their top 5 prospects in Johan Rojas to take the spot of Cristian Pache. Rojas’ debut on Saturday in both games of the double header were fantastic. The call up and emergence of Johan Rojas has changed the Phillies plans for the Trade Deadline. Join Michael and Mitch and let them know if you Agree or Disagree with that statement. Also recently announced by manager Rob Thomson, Bryce Harper could play his first game at 1st base for the Phillies during the Brewers series. They wouldn’t commit yet to which game but it looks like Harper is starting to get more and more healthy with that elbow. Do all of these changes and factors change things for the Phillies as the trade deadline is rapidly approaching on August 1st. Michael and Mitch will also look ahead at the upcoming series against the Brewers and Indians. The Brewers are coming into Philly fresh off a sweep of the upstart Cincinnati Reds, can the Phillies cool them off. To round things out, Michael Chromiak and Mitch Williams are going to have a catch. Not literally…but Tommy will be throwing some questions to Mitch who will fire back with some raw thoughts.
