On today’s episode of “Here's The Thing,” Thomas Arnone and former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams discuss the previous week of Phillies action against the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets. Nick Castellanos and The Philadelphia Phillies started the week off losing the first game to the Atlanta Braves 4-2. Bad weather would postpone the second one until later in the season. Then in the third game Alec Bohm would be the only man to score as the Braves decimated the Phillies 5-1. The New York Mets would then come to town and the Phillies, rallying behind Trea Turner would take game 1. The Mets would get their revenge however, taking game 2 following impressive outings by Max Scherzer and Starling Marte. Game 3 would see Zach Wheeler and the Phillies take this city on an emotional roller coaster. Being down 6-3 in the 8th, the Mets bullpen would crumble and the Phillies capitalized putting up 4 runs and sealing not only the game but also the series win. Kyle Schwarber’s typically “Hot” June hasn’t materialized like it has in the past, having gone only 2-20 in this most recent stretch of home games. So far in the month of June, Schwarber is still only batting .182 with 7 home runs, which is completely unacceptable for a lead off hitter. Even more unacceptable when the power numbers are just pedestrian for a power hitter. For the money, Schwarber just needs to be better. After going 0-10 against the Mets, is it time for Rob Thompson to move Kyle Schwarber out of the lead off spot? Let us know in the comments below! Moving on from the Braves and Mets, we take a look ahead to the upcoming week's schedule which includes 3 games in Chicago against the Cubs before returning home for the weekend against the Nationals. Can the Phillies start another run and win 5 games this week? Despite having an off day Monday, can the Phillies use the momentum of their comeback win on Sunday to start another hot stretch?
