Alex Canchola (38) and was a police officer for the city of Montclair for about 5 years from 2006-2011. During his career Alex worked patrol and assisted the CSU (crime suppression unit) with search warrants and surveillance. Once he left the department, he started a fountain called "saved a sheepdog" where he spoke to different police agencies about peer support and shared his story.
Alex talks about his near death experience off duty, which lead him to his career change.
