When I was growing up the way men thought about sex was fundamentally flawed. Sex for us, was a goal, a prize of sorts. We didn’t consider the human that was behind the body of the woman we wanted to have sex with. We just wanted to up our body count. But for what? To feel more of “man”? To prove you were “attractive”? These thoughts aren’t unique to me and my upbringing. They’re similar thoughts a lot of men the 90s had. Today I challenge you and everyone else around you to rethink the reasons you have sex and make sure it’s simply because it’s something you enjoy and not something you need to prove.
