Realizing Your Writing Dreams – Brent Hershey from USA Today/BaseballHQ

Author and co-director of BaseballHQ.com, Brent Hershey, checks in to share how he moved from being a subscriber to eventually directing the website and co-authoring the best-selling Baseball Forecaster every year.

Brent started out in journalism, editing a medical recruitment magazine and a bi-monthly Christian rock music magazine. Thinking he wanted to be a professor, he attended seminary and graduate school with a focus on how Quaker religious beliefs about peacemaking affected relations with Native Americans from 1681-1757. But a move to the Philly area for his wife’s work left him wondering what as next for him vocationally.

So, Brent applied to be a writer for Ron Shandler’s BaseballHQ.com, but Ron rejected him. Brent tried again the next year and was accepted. He moved up the ranks at the website and a handful of years later Ron approached him to become co-director of the website, beginning his current journey with the leading fantasy baseball website.
