"He's so toxic!" "That's abusive!" "She's such a narcissist!" What if the concept of "toxic" is toxic in itself? Today's episode dives into the language we use, how the words in our cultural lexicon have become more extreme in creating distinctions and grabbing people's attention. On the flip side, today's younger generations are more aware of mental issues; however, this can often lead to self diagnoses (sometimes to our detriment). We live in a cancel culture, so the moment we don’t like something we can write it off as toxic/abusive. Have you experienced this either from doing so yourself or have you witnessed a friend of yours do this? The word “toxic” has lost its power whereas "toxic" people are everywhere and we HAVE to get rid of them. Are we moving towards self-victimization where the problem is always outside ourselves and never our responsibility, or are we just finally putting words to what "it" is?

Cass & Elise are exploring all these questions. Press play, take a listen, and let us know what you think!
