G'day voters, and welcome to the show notes for the tenth episode of 3 White Guys + Guest, a political podcast for a cynical nation.Today, our plus guest is Dejay Toborek, activist, former Greens candidate for Wentworth, and one of the Red Rebels for Extinction Rebellion.
The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. We are on track to exceed two degrees of global warming, and given the reticence of global governments to address climate change, it's going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.If it gets better.Climate change policy has ended the career of every Prime Minister since Howard left office, and still nothing is being done. Emissions are increasing endlessly, and have done so since the carbon tax legislation was scrapped.And all we get from those at the top is more obfuscation, half-measures, and coal bandied about on the floor of parliament by the now Prime Minister Scott Morrison, as though all of this is a big joke.So, are we going to die? Is it all Mad Max from here? Or can we still do something to prevent the worst case scenario from eventuating?It's time to slip, slop, and slap as we gear up for the end of the world.
