This podcast was recorded on the lands of the Gadigal of Eora nation. We pay our respects to elders past and present and acknowledge the work of those in community today. This land was stolen and sovereignty was never ceded, Australia owes a debt that can never be repaid and must come to terms with the historic and ongoing genocide of the First Nations. There is no revolution without Treaties.
G'day voters, and welcome to 3 White Guys + Guest, a political podcast for a cynical nation.

Today, our plus guest is Yuin woman and First nations assistant curator at the Australian Museum: Dr Mariko Smith, who was kind enough to take us on a tour of the Unsettled exhibition, open May 22 until October 10. We last caught up with Mariko at the 2020 Yabun Festival, where she discussed the upcoming exhibit, the need to correct the overtly Euro-centric record of history on this land, and the damage wrought by colonisers.
In this episode, we discussed the Unsettled exhibition and the work being done to correct false historical narratives, as well as the role of an exhibition like Unsettled in truth-telling and providing a space for Indigenous voices in the exploration of the history of this land.
