Nephites suffer from political strife, secret combinations, internal dissentions, and attacks from the Lamanites. Despite these challenges, the solution remains the same: repenting and calling upon the name of Jesus Christ. Helaman counsels his sons, Lehi and Nephi, to build their lives upon the foundation of the Rock of Heavan, so that when they are confronted with the challenges that ultimately will come, they can remain firm and safe. Towards the end of these chapters, many Lamanites repent while the Nephites begin to embrace the secret combinations, and the Lamanites begin to surpass the Nephites in righteousness.
