Afrobeats has grown in popularity to far bypass genres like Dancehall, Soca, and some might argue that it has even surpassed Hip Hop in terms of popularity.
Some say that Afrobeat is a fusion of other genres like Dancehall and Hip Hop, but Vx from the 18 Karat Reggae team begs to differ. She believes that Afrobeat was always there, and it is Hip Hop and Dancehall that was influenced Afrobeat.
