Out of respect for current events and a desire to amplify black voices I'd love to highlight a past conversation I had with my friend and fellow actor Kevin Daniels. In February 2018 Kevin and I sat down to chat about his journey in acting, as a gay, black man in a field that is inherently stacked against its willing applicants.
I believe that Kevin's story, and the spirit in which he has pursued his dream and lived his life, will add value to the questions swirling around all of us right now: how do we retain our hope and dignity when the external powers that be are not providing us with as many opportunities as those whom we are competing for jobs.
