This week: Handling Criticism Better

How can we use criticism to grow and not always be hurt by it? Rebecca reflects on how she is learning to handle criticism better.

Don’t seek outside praise and evaluation- you are not always going to get it from those you want it from.

The more confidence you have, the less you criticize other people.

The effectiveness of letting someone know they have hurt your feelings without being angry when you do it.

Don’t be afraid to give yourself praise and validation.

Ask yourself “what is their intent?” when someone is criticizing you. Listen without being defensive.

Criticism is harder to take when it is unsolicited. It is wise to wait until you are asked.

Aside from your family, you don’t need to surround yourself with people who only criticize you.
